Canine Compass
Meet Marnie
“Every dog has a story. Every family has a journey. Sometimes we just need a little help finding our way together.”
Marnie Grey is an Early Childhood Educator, award-winning children's performer, humane educator, and dog training professional based in Vancouver, BC. For more than 27 years, Marnie has helped children and families build confidence, connection, and understanding through her Music with Marnie programs. She is a graduate of Good Dog Academy's Professional Dog Trainer Program, where she studied canine behaviour, learning theory, canine communication, and relationship-based training.
While every dog has taught her something, it was her rescue dog Aavi who inspired her to look deeper. Arriving from Dubai with an unknown history, a big heart, and a handful of challenges, Aavi sparked Marnie's desire to better understand canine communication, behaviour, learning, and the unique relationship between dogs and people.
Creating strong relationships has always been at the heart of Marnie's work. For nearly three decades, she has helped children and families learn, grow, and connect through music and shared experiences. That same passion led her to the world of dog training, where she discovered that helping people understand their dogs — and helping families find the right canine companion for their lifestyle — can create stronger, more successful relationships for everyone involved.
Today, through Canine Compass, Marnie helps people and communities better understand dogs through dog safety education, canine communication, humane education, family dog consultations, and relationship-based learning. Her work focuses on helping dogs and people build safe, positive relationships from the very beginning.
Her goal is to help create safer, more compassionate communities where both dogs and people can thrive. Through education, understanding, and connection, Canine Compass helps people and dogs navigate life together.
